Magazine Article

I am planning to start doing research and writing my magazine article today. I will be searching of stories related to basketball players who had hard childhoods and made the best out of the opportunity sports gave them. One story in particular I will be researching is Jimmy Butler's (Miami Heat player).

Picture Day!

Today I took the pictures I will be using for my magazine pages. Below are a sample of some of them. I really like the dull greys, whites, browns, and greens that are present within each photo.

This table of contents I found on the internet is very appealing to the eye and uses a variety of vibrant colors. Although it may not match the color scheme of my liking, it is definitely a unique style for me to use as a reference.

Example Cover Page

I like the idea of this cover page as the man in this picture really "pops" to the eye and allows for you to easily read the captioned writing as well.

Greetings!

Hello. My name is Charles Smith and I am a senior at Hallandale High School. I am currently pursuing to play basketball in college off both a combined academic and athletic scholarship. I have recently received my Cambridge (AICE) Diploma and I'm a few credits away from receiving my Associates Degree from Florida International University. In addition, I am a truly dedicated basketball player and have been the captain of my school's Varsity Basketball team since I was a sophomore. Honestly, I've never really been taught about creative ventures, like creating magazines, yet; I do know the cover page has to "pop" and grab viewers' attention.  Since I am big fan of sports and, more specifically, professional athletes' journeys to success, I will be creating my magazine on the bases of those topics. Many people see athletes' final results but are not aware of what they went through to get there.
